I've never been into cupcakes my whole life. I tried only those in groceries being bought by my parents if they ever bought one but never ever a home made cupcake haha. But my whole life changed one day when I got to meet this special person.
It was one day in school, particularly the Discipline Office at SJ118. I'm a student from De La Salle University btw so if you're a Lasallian currently studying, incoming freshmen or an alumni from DLSU, you would probably know SJ as Saint Joseph Hall. I was an assistant of a Discipline Officers or known as Paragons. I was having my residency one time and this girl came out to me and said "Den, have you liked my Facebook page?" I said "What Facebook page?" The girl replied "Oh I guess you haven't yet." That girl's name was Jessica Diaz Clemente or simply known as Jes. I wasn't much of a gregarious person with those in the DO since I was always focused with the residency but I tend to join in their conversation sometimes when I can relate to the topic. She then showed me in the computer her Facebook page which is "Little Louie's Cupcakes". I said "Sure, I'll like your Facebook page once I get home." So I did. Upon seeing the Facebook page, I started checking out what her page is about. In summary of what her Facebook page,
Little Louie's Cupcakes is her business where Jes herself makes cupcakes. In addition, she also makes personalized cupcakes, cookies, mini cakes and recently made a cake version of her cupcake requested by one of her customers. The name of her business came from her sister Louie and since she won't stay young forever, Jes and her mom decided to immortalize the image of Louie to show that she (Jes) will always love her sister. So I figured, why not buy to try my first ever home made cupcakes. So I took note of the cellphone number of Jes and started to text her telling her that I'll be trying one of her cupcakes and to her made her so happy that it was just a day I got to know her business, I wanted to try out already one of her cupcakes. But it got me to thinking. What did I want to order with so many to choose from and I haven't familiarized myself that time of her cupcake flavors. Then I got stumbled onto this cupcake which was so cute and told her "I finally decided. 1 Red Velvet cupcake please." So she did. She then took my order and told me, I can get it on Thursday (if I'm not mistaken) at the DO Office at SJ118.
So I did, that day came and I got to meet her again and I was pretty much excited with So after giving to me the red velvet cupcake which was in a box, she told me to comment it and so in the office I decided to try it and on my first bite I was shocked well not negatively but I started to feel something inside to tell to the world that I loved her cupcakes. I commented immediately that I loved her red velvet cupcake very much and it was indeed a moment for me to savor on the cupcake. I never had tried EVER in my life a gorgeous, pleasing, eye-catching, delicious home-made cupcake like what I have eaten. I am proud to say that I'll definitely buy again from her. She wouldn't believe what I say but I meant it a lot to her and so after a few minutes of convincing her, I gave her a hug and I promised to her that I will buy again soon.

So I get to order again one day and saw from my Facebook newsfeed her new cupcake which was Salted Caramel Cupcakes. It's description was Rich chocolate based cake
with a thick and chewy salted caramel core and frosted with Mocha Swiss
Meringue Buttercream. This made me tempted to buy one of these cuties and so I ordered again from Jes telling her I want to try her Salted Caramel cupcakes. On the day itself when I got the box of salted caramel myself, I got to opened it and have a whiff of its smell which was like heaven for me due to the smell of caramel. On the first bite of the cupcake, my heart pounded and I got to say made tears in my eyes -- not sadness but pure joy that I have just tasted one of the BEST cupcakes EVER in my life. I got so excited to tell Jes that I loved her salted caramel cupcakes. Due to that cupcake made me love her cupcakes even more. I suddenly became a Cupcake Lover. What I did? Tell other people about her cupcakes.

After that day of having that heavenly mouth-watering salted caramel, I first told this to my blockmates and way way back my elementary and HS batchmate Maxi. I told and convinced them to buy from Jes her awesome cupcakes. I gave them a list of her cupcakes which are Dark Chocolate, Red Velvet, Salted Caramel, Lemon Zucchini, Banana Crumble and Jack Daniel's to name a few. Successfully, I convinced them to buy. Ever since then, I started helping Jes out with her cupcakes. I enjoyed a lot in helping her, seeing the cupcakes and all and with that I finally decided to help out in anyway for her business to get well known. So far of all those I have convinced to buy, all were praises and I told them to give a comment to her in her facebook page. A few weeks back, I was in a mood to buy someone a cupcake and I chose one of my good friends which I met in the choir. Her name is Myka Javier. I tweeted her the other day that I was in the mood to buy a cupcake for someone and I chose her to give that cupcake. She was overjoyed, excited and panicking telling me in all caps to wait because she can't choose which cupcake. She was so happy to get a cupcake. She then chose obviously the Jack Daniel's cupcake which didn't surprised me. And so I told Jes immediately that my choir friend will be ordering one Jack Daniel's and of course she was happy to hear that a customer like me never stopped telling others about her cupcake. And I didn't. From my blockmates to some of my choir friends to my HS batchmate, I was always thrilled and happy to mention her cupcakes which then made me realized to helped her even more in her business. How? ART.
I started working on making some of her cupcakes using Macromedia Flash, cropping it using Paint and photoshopping it using Adobe Photoshop CS3. The result of the 1st cupcake I made? Here it is.

I had to say myself that time I enjoyed making them and so I continued making other cupcakes which I was inspired that time. I based it on some of the pictures of Jes took from her orders to introducing them as new cupcakes. The result of the first one?

When I sent it to Jes, she didn't hesitate any longer to put it as a timeline cover because she said it was so cute. I told her to wait for another because I was not yet done doing the other cupcakes. She said, go on and she'll definitely change it once I send it to her. Here how it looked like and is now the current timeline cover of hers which there should be an LLC with a heart on the bottom.

Doing all of these posters made me feel the love of doing art in a special way. I got this kind of talent that I received from God and I am here to develop it. All of these were not possible thanks to all the inspiration that I got during those days and with my support to Jes and her business, I believe she'll soar high and her business will grow and become successful forever.
